About this Guide
This guide supports ART 109: History of Fashion Design, which surveys the evolution of fashionable dress from the late 19th century to the present. Emphasis will be placed on examining individual garments and movements scholars consider outstanding, historically significant, or influential. The course will also cover the development of 20th-century mass fashion and its associated cultural and economic impact.
